About Me
Hi, My name is Thomas D’Sylva, a marketing student studying at Curtin University.
My entire life I have had a strong passion for surfing and the joy it can bring for surfers and those watching. I am determined to pursue a successful career in becoming a surf ambassador/marketer within the sport of surfing in helping it grow further as a world-wide recognised sport.
I grew up In Floreat, Perth Western Australia majority of my entire life, but have also had the pleasure living in La Jolla, San Diego California in the United states for 2 years of my life when I was in primary school. Having too change countries and meet new friends was a hard skill for me too learn and so I quickly became good at talking with new people and developing my communication skills. Both regions geographically are very close to the coast and have highly popular surf breaks making surfing a highly popular sport for people in this area. As such the friends I made in school and the strong influence I had in my dad teaching me how to surf when I was young has made me grow a strong passion for the sport of surfing. The skills I have learned growing up and my strong interest in surfing has made me want too help grow the sport further in becoming widely recognised by people all around the world.

My job was too help my boss fix board repairs, de-wax surf boards out the back of the store and sell surfboards/surfing products to customers. My current Job is working at Surf brand Hurly in Karrinyup, selling men’s surf wear to customers. Through my experiences in working at these surf shops I have learned tonnes of experience in understanding the different products surrounding surfing, understanding consumers interests and how surf brands market their products too consumers.
